The guava (Psidium guajava) is a small tree which belongs to the myrtle family, originally native to Mexico, Central America, the Caribbean and northern South America. Nowadays, the guava is cultivated in India as well.
What active ingredients does guava contain?
The guava fruit is naturally rich in antioxidants, contains a lot of vitamin C, beta-carotene and all B vitamins except for B12, and contains a range of minerals and trace elements. It is an excellent source for fiber.
Guava leaves possess naturally high levels of zinc and provide beneficial polyphenols, flavonoids, tannins and ursolic acid as well.
Where do the guava which is used for Ogaenics grow?
Our organic guava fruit is cultivated at 2000m altitude in the forests of Odisha in India. Instead of using harmful chemicals and practices such as composting; crop rotation and intercropping are used to control weeds and pests as well as providing valuable nutrients to the soil. No synthetic fertilizers or pesticides are used. And finally, they are carefully harvested by hand twice a year at the peak of their ripeness.
How is Ogaenics guava extract being made?
The extraction of the freshly harvested guava fruit and leaves is done only with the help of water in a reverse osmosis process. After this filtered and finally the extract is concentrated with the help of spray drying. This modern technology ensures that the valuable phyto-active ingredients, vitamins and minerals of the plant are preserved.
