Saffron (Crocus sativus L.) is one of the most precious plants in the world. Around 150,000 flowers are harvested by hand to make 1 kg of saffron – each one precisely hand-picked. Saffron is cultivated in Morocco and carefully harvested by hand.
As an organic brand for food supplements, we are subject to the European Health Claims Regulation (EC) No. 1924/2006. We may only use health claims relating to vitamins and minerals if they have been scientifically tested and officially approved.
The situation is different for botanicals: many of these claims are currently on the European Commission’s “on hold” list. This means that they have been submitted and scientifically evaluated, but no final decision has yet been made.
