Organic spinach

Origin India | supplier of folate (the natural version of folic acid)

Spinach (Spinacia oleracea L) was brought to Spain from Persia by the Arabs in the 11th century. In the 13th century it spread to the rest of Europe.

What active ingredients does spinach contain?

Spinach is an extremely nutrient-dense vegetable. It contains many different vitamins and minerals, including large amounts of folate, also known as vitamin B9. This is what we use it for at Ogaenics. Spinach also provides vitamins C and K, beta-carotene (the precursor of vitamin A), and the minerals potassium, calcium, magnesium and iron.

Where does the organic spinach used for Ogaenics grow?

Our spinach grows on small organic plantations on the slopes of the Nilgiri Mountains in the west of the southern Indian state of Tamil Nadu, in the Kotagiri region.

How is the Ogaenics folate made from organic spinach?

The freshly harvested organic spinach is thoroughly washed and then freeze-dried using lyophilization. The spinach then undergoes three different hydrolysis processes, is dried and gently processed into powder. This extract contains 10% natural folate forms together with the other valuable plant substances of the plant.
