Probiotics are microorganisms that, when ingested orally in sufficient quantities, have a health-promoting effect on humans. There is still a great need for research in many areas. The term probiotic is composed of the Latin pro ‘for’ and ancient Greek bios ‘life’.
What active ingredients do probiotic bacteria contain?
Probiotic microorganisms include, for example, lactic acid bacteria and yeasts that occur naturally in the large and small intestines.
Where do the probiotic bacteria used for Ogaenics grow?
For Ogaenics, hundreds of bacterial strains were studied in a multi-stage selection process and analyzed in terms of their probiotic properties. Of these, 21 strains were selected as perfect candidates due to their documented history of use in food (e.g., as starter cultures) and their positive, scientifically proven effects on humans. Our probiotic bacterial strains grow in Italy in Piedmont. We use the following strains in selected Ogaenics products:
